What is the Jeep Active Drive | 4x4 System?
Fully automatic, full-time four wheel drive system designed to give you all-weather capability. It automatically switches between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive at any speed. 
The rear axle has a disconnect feature, allowing power to be sent to only the front wheels during dry driving conditions
Sensors continuously monitor for wheel slippage, automatically re-engaging the rear wheels to reestablish grip and stability
The system has a brake lock differential that applies brake-pressure to a free-spinning wheel. This causes it to redirect the torque to the opposite wheel that has better traction.
Pairs with the Selec-Train Traction Management System.
